Dialight Debuts Class I Div 2 LED Linear Fixture with Integrated Battery Backup

First-of-its-Kind SafeSite® LED Linear Fixture Delivers 4 Hours of Light on Battery Backup for Superior Safety and Reliability in Hazardous Locations

Farmingdale, NJ (April 16th, 2013) – Dialight (LSE: DIA.L), the innovative global leader in LED lighting technology, today unveiled its new SafeSite® LED Linear Fixture with integrated battery backup, the first LED fixture of its kind to provide at least three full hours of illumination on battery backup for Class I Div 2 hazardous locations.

Ideally suited for offshore drilling operations, refineries and other classified environments, the four-foot linear fixture is designed to replace conventional fluorescent & HID fixtures for more energy efficient, long-life emergency lighting.

The SafeSite Linear with battery backup leverages Dialight’s industry-leading low-wattage LED design, customized driver circuitry and optimized power supply to deliver years of stand-by life on the integrated, high-performance 3.6V NiMH battery. Built-in battery status indicator and press-to-test functionality ensure reliable performance in the event of a power failure.

“Once again, Dialight’s superior technology sets the bar higher for the entire industry,” said Roy Burton, Dialight’s Group Chief Executive. “This first-of-its-kind LED fixture with battery backup and integrated power supply delivers twice the industry-standard backup time, even in the harshest environments.”

The 85W fixture delivers 7,000 lumens on primary power, with 450 lumens in battery backup mode which is maintained over the life of the battery. Versatile mounting options include both overhead and inline conduit mounting, while an optional bracket enables ceiling or other overhead structure mount.

The fixture carries a T4a temperature rating and ambient operating range of -20°F to +149°F. The powder coated aluminum chassis and polycarbonate lens provide high impact resistance, and the fixture is IP66 and NEMA 4X rated for ingress protection. In addition to UL-1598A, UL-924 and UL-844, the SafeSite Linear with Battery Backup is also CSA 22.2 rated to meet Canadian standards.
A field-replaceable battery with at least 3 hours of expected life and Dialight’s 5-year full-performance warranty ensure many years of worry-free performance.

In addition to the Linear, the integrated battery backup is also available on Dialight’s SafeSite LED Wallpack / Bulkhead Fixture.

Dialight Unveils Industry’s First FAA-Certified All-LED Dual Red/White High-Intensity Obstruction Lighting System at NAB

Next Generation of Award-Winning Vigilant® System Offers L-856/L-864 Integrated Design for More Compact, Lightweight Profile Backed by Five-Year Full-Performance Warranty

Las Vegas and Farmingdale, NJ (April 9th, 2013) – Dialight (LSE: DIA.L), the innovative global leader in LED lighting technology, today set a new LED obstruction lighting milestone, unveiling the first all-LED, FAA-certified L-856/L-864 dual red/white integrated high-intensity beacon system.
The new Vigilant® Series system debuted at the 2013 NAB Show in Las Vegas, featuring a smaller, more compact and lighter-weight flash headed than any other system on the market. The new dual strobe system is the latest addition to Dialight’s award-winning Vigilant® Series high-intensity product line that earned its fourth Pick Hit Award from Radio magazine at the 2011 NAB Show.

“This latest innovation once again clearly demonstrates Dialight’s industry leadership in designing the next generation of solutions to solve difficult aviation obstruction maintenance challenges,” said Roy Burton, Dialight’s Group Chief Executive. “The new red/white integrated system reduces the number of individual units that must be installed on the tower as well as reducing the number of monitoring devices required.”

The high-efficiency system not only reduces the cost of maintenance and the associated safety risks, but also lowers energy consumption and cost. The dual system operates in three modes: day (270,000 candela at 220W), twilight (20,000 candela at 40W) and night (2,000 candela at 40W), plus night-time red (2,000 candela at 30W) with all Wattage levels including the controller. The lower energy load reduces the level of EMI/RFI compared to Xenon systems to minimize communication signal interruption.

Featuring Dialight’s precision, patented community-friendly optics design with little to no light pollution, along with several other mechanical and communications patent-pending technologies, the dual red/white strobe system features a sharp cut-off angle for a neighborhood-friendly solution with maximum aerial visibility. The ruggedized system is designed to perform optimally in harsh environments and at temperatures ranging from -40°F to +131°F. The entire system is compatible with GPS synchronization systems, allowing for multiple unit sync from a single controller.

To see the new Vigilant Series L-856/L-864 red/white integrated system in action, visit Dialight Booth #C2056 during the NAB Show running now through April 11 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Dialight Announces Advanced Lighting Controls for its LED Fixture Portfolio for Industrial and Hazardous Locations

Next generation integrated LED lighting controls available in both wireless and wired configurations improve total cost of ownership

Farmingdale, NJ (April 9th, 2013) – Dialight (LSE: DIA.L), the innovative global leader in LED lighting technology, today announced the introduction of integrated controls for its industry leading LED lighting fixture portfolio for use in the world’s most demanding applications.  The patent-pending, smart grid compatible control package is available in variety of communications protocols. These include powerline communications (PLC), wireless (industry standard Zigbee) or DALI platforms and can be manually configured or accessed utilizing a touch screen wall controller via mobile devices such as iPhone, iPad, or Android, or from a remote network computer.

“Dialight is reinventing the way our customers operate and maintain their lighting systems while simultaneously improving safety and saving on operating expenses,” said Roy Burton, Dialight’s Group Chief Executive. “Our controls will save on both energy and maintenance costs, and will allow our customers to regulate exactly how, when and where their lighting is operated”.

Dialight’s advanced lighting controls system will debut on the company’s award winning LED High Bay products for industrial and hazardous locations including UL Class I and II, Div 1, Class I and II, Div 2 as well as ATEX/IECEx Zone 1 and 2 configurations.  Products will ship in Q2-2013 and will be integrated into additional Dialight fixture families later this year.

Advanced Controls
Using Dialight’s fully integrated controls, not only can our customers turn individual or grouped LED light fixtures on and off when required, they can also be dimmed to required illumination levels, used in conjunction with daylight sensing or motion detection technologies as well as scheduled with different operating profiles for various times of the day or week.

Monitoring and Reporting
Through Dialight’s controlled LED lighting fixtures, intelligent monitoring and reporting will give users the ability to review lighting and energy consumption statistics via the web or mobile device apps with high tech advanced security for individual or multiple facilities.  Features include on-demand or scheduled reports and fault management alerts if an issue is present.

Dialight will be displaying its new integrated controls at this year’s Offshore Technology Conference in Houston, TX this May at booth # 4902.
